Announcing "Beirut International Healthcare Industry Forum" to Be Held in July Hasbani: Lebanon's Position as a Destination for Medical Tourism will Be Enhanced and the Investment in this Sector will be Encouraged

Deputy Prime Minister Health Minister Ghassan Hasbani held a Press Conference this morning in his office at the Ministry located in Bir Hassan to launch "Beirut International Healthcare Industry Forum". This forum organized by the Ministry of Public Health in collaboration with "Al-Iktissad Wal-Aamal" Group will be held on June 10 and will attract figures of Health Sector from all around the World.

The conference was attended by the President of "Al-Iktissad Wal-Aamal" Group Raouf Abou Zaki, IDAL president for investment promotion Nabil Itani, the President of the Order of Physicians Raymond Sayegh, Head of the North Physicians Syndicate Dr. Omar Ayyash, President of the Lebanese Pharmaceutical Importers Association Armond Pharès, Former President of the Lebanese Dental Association Ghassan Yared and representatives of: the order of Pharmacy, Syndicate of Pharmaceutical Industries, Syndicate of Hospitals, Syndicate of Laboratories and a representative of Insurance companies Group.

Minister Hasbani said: “this is the first time that we launch “Beirut International Healthcare Industry Forum” that will gather a wide range of experts in healthcare Industry in Lebanon and many Arab Countries and other countries to share developmental ideas to this sector.”

He added: “The most important thing is that this forum will be a platform to highlight Lebanese capacities in this sector and guide investments towards it to achieve the development of medical sector and the provision of developed medical services to the Lebanese citizen, the Arab and foreign patient, and to confirm the leading role of Lebanon in medical industries in the Arab region recently proved by studies, ranking Lebanon first in the field of medical services in the Arab World.”

Hasbani then added: “Let us shed the light on this and promote investments, growth and development of this sector. We have decided in collaboration and partnership with "Al-Iktissad Wal-Aamal" Group and with the support of IDAL and a wide range of syndicates, orders and institutions that deal with medical industry in Lebanon to organize this forum in Beirut to Address the Arab World and the rest of countries and show the positive image of Lebanon."
Hasbani noted that this forum is under the patronage of Health Ministry, but will be open to everyone for massive participation in order to enhance the Lebanese health sector in the Middle East and to grant it a developed position at the international level. This forum will also enhance the position of Lebanon as a Medical Tourist destination on one hand, and investment destination for those interested in health industries on the other hand. He wished cooperation from all concerned parties in this sector to guarantee the success of the forum.

He stated that: “the comprehensive Health Ministry Plan for hospitalization and the Lebanese health sector for the future years will be launched during the forum. This plan will be a master plan to work on the organization of this sector and making hospitalization accessible to all the Lebanese citizens by all possible means.”

Hasbani finally said: “this forum will have significant weight in many subjects, among which politics, health sector strategies, pharmaceutical and medical equipment manufacturing, modern health care and the leading role in Health Industry in Lebanon and other subjects that specialists and guests from Lebanon and abroad will discuss during the Forum."

It is worth noting that statements were also made by Abu Zaki and Itani on Health Sector in Lebanon and its importance in the establishment of a policy for medical tourism in the country.
