Hasbani during the EU's Launching of Two Health Care Projects that Constitute a First Line of Defense for Public Health and the Prevention of Epidemics
The European Union launched two first projects for health care in Karaghuesian medico social care center in Borj Hammoud under the patronage of caretaker Deputy Prime Minister and Health Minister Ghassan Hasbani and in the context of a package worth Euro 70 million from the regional trust fund to support the health care sector in Lebanon for all the people in need of quality service across Lebanon.
Hasbani
“The primary health care is the basis of the universal health care and constitutes a key to the policies we have formulated for the health care sector and we are always working on implementing them. Hence, the importance of the primary health care for the Ministry as well as the international organizations concerned in the humanitarian and health care sector since it bears a significant part of the hospitals’ burden, protects the patient from the development of diseases and prevents the outbreak of communicable and non-communicable diseases through the provision of vaccines, primary treatment and health care”, Hasbani noted in a statement.
The EU’s statement
A statement issued by the European Union noted that the first project implemented by the International Medical Corps and its two partners - the first aid organization and the Foundation for the Social Promotion - will support the primary health care system in Lebanon. This latter is at the core of the health care system and goes beyond the diseases’ treatment to provide universal care easily accessible for all and based on the society.
