Jabak from Halba Hospital: We will Increase its Budget to LL 7 billion and we won't Let any Hospital Deny a Patient's Admission
Minister of Public Health Dr. Jamil Jabak announced from Dr. Abdallah Al Rassi Governmental Hospital in Halba – Akkar that he will increase the budget of the hospital to LL 7 billion and completely eliminate the financial ceiling in it. “We will not let any hospital deny a patient admission for financial reasons, and we will dismiss any director responsible for the death of a patient at the governmental hospitals’ doors,” Jabak said.
Jabak toured the facilities of the hospital and inspected its equipment, while the hospital’s director briefed him on its shortage, noting that the hospital started working in 2006 and comprises 106 beds.
Minister Jabak announced that he will eliminate the financial ceiling of the hospital in order to receive and treat all the disadvantaged patients. “In Lebanon, there are one million 800 thousand uninsured citizens and almost half of them are from Akkar. The Ministry has to provide them with the necessary medical care,” Jabak added.
Jabak assured that his office is open to everyone, in particular the directors of the hospitals who can meet him directly, without intermediary to address any problem in any governmental hospital. “I will work on opening a division for cardiology and provide the necessary equipment within a maximum of 6 months,” Jabak stated.
Al-Minyeh
Jabak inspected Al-Minyeh Governmental Hospital to identify its needs and improve its medical services.
He also toured the departments of the hospital and suggested that what he saw is of no less importance than the needs of Halba Governmental hospital. He added that they would put the hospital on the health map to provide it with the necessary support.
