The MoPH Follows up the Situation in Kfarabida and Confirms that there is no Epidemic Outbreak

The Information office of the Ministry of Public health issued the following statement:

Kfarabida village in Batroun was in state of panic during the last 72 hours after an old man passed on and an old woman experienced the same symptoms, which led her to intensive care and sparked rumors.

Keen to maintain health security, promote the citizens’ psychological stability and dispel the suspicions of some, the Ministry of Public Health has permanently followed on since Monday evening this case with the District’s Doctor Wissam Saadeh who will meet this noon with figures and people from the village to give them a scientific and medical explanation for both cases.

The Ministry has also dispatched a central team from the epidemiological surveillance department to Kfarabida where field investigation is carried out and samples from the water are taken and sent to the labs of the scientific research centers in Fanar. Samples from the blood of the deceased and the patient are also sent to labs outside the country.

The Ministry of Public Health confirms that the situation is under control and that there is no need to panic since no epidemic outbreak was detected in the village. It is still waiting for the exams’ results to take the necessary action. The citizens are called on to head to the office of the district in Batroun for further information.
