Hasbani Received an in-Kind Saudi Arabia's Donation for the Health Sector and Opened a Dialysis Unit at Hariri University Hospital: the Continuing Support Enhances Humanitarian and Social Capacities
 
NNA- Deputy Prime Minister Health Minister Ghassan Hasbnai opened a rehabilitated dialysis Unit and a pediatric dialysis Unit at Rafik Hariri University Hospital. Medical equipment was handed over to him as an in-kind Saudi Arabian donation to the Lebanese Health Sector. This equipment was delivered to gynecology and pediatrics department at Hariri’s hospital and to Primary Health Care Center inside the hospital. Similar Equipment will be handed over to different governmental Lebanese Hospitals  and all the Primary Health Care Centers across the Lebanese territory to promote reproductive health and educate Lebanese and Syrian women about pre-natal, pregnancy and post-natal. This medical aid is provided by the United Nations Population fund UNFPA and Primary Health Care Department at the Ministry of Public Health with a total cost of 2 million dollars and a half.
 
This ceremony was attended by Acting Chargé d'Affaires of Saudi Embassy Walid Bukhari, Head of the Board of Directors and Director General of Rafik El Hariri Hospital Dr. Firas Abiad, members of the Board of Directors, the responsible for organ transplants program Dr. Antoine Barbari, The Head of the dialysis Unit Dr. Salim Kabalan, Heads of medical and administrative services and departments, nephrologists and hypertension specialists.
Dr. Abiad made a statement in which he noted that “the project for the establishment of a pediatric dialysis Unit and the rehabilitation of the dialysis Unit at Rafik Hariri University Hospital was achieved thanks to personal capacities. This constitutes an achievement for the Ministry of Public Health, the governmental hospitals and staff working in the hospital that showed their perseverance in spite of the limited resources they have.”
 
Bukhari

Bukhari stressed in a brief statement that “Saudi Arabia seeks to serve humans wherever they are and the assistance and programs express its humanitarian mission”, as he wishes the permanent success of the workers in this field.
 
Hasbani

In his turn, Health Minister said “I am happy to see this governmental hospital in Beirut developing at a fast speed in spite of all the significant financial and social pressures that are increasing due to the displacement from which all of us suffer”, in the hope that “this support will continue in the light of the special relationship between Saudi Arabia and Lebanon, and additional meetings will be held at the health level between KSA and Lebanon.”
