Launching of the New Version of the MOPH's Website and E-Services Platform

The Minister of Public Health Wael Abou Faour launched the updated version of the Ministry’s website www.moph.gov.lb that comprises the completion of the electronic transactions and the publication of drugs prices in comparison with the drugs of similar composition during a press conference held at the Ministry’s premises in Bir-Hasan.

The Director of the National E-health Programme Lina Abou Mrad introduced the new structure of the website in details, while she noted that it was developed to keep up with the latest developments. Several elements were added to the website:

  1. The official website is now in both English and Arabic languages, after it was only available in English.
  1. The citizen can now be informed on everything issued by the Ministry. The electronic transactions available on the website are now categorized according to the department or subject, which makes it easier for the citizens to search for the transactions or applications.
  1. Eight transactions related to Diwan service, Pharmacy Service, Medical Professions Division and Mother and Child Health Department can be submitted and completed through the internet.
  1. A section is added for the citizens to submit complaints.
  1. The website shows the distribution of all the health care facilities in Lebanon.
  1.  The website provides a detailed description of the drugs, with a national database for the drugs registered at the Ministry and that of similar composition. This database shows all the information related to these drugs, in particular their prices, so as to allow the citizen to compare these prices and that of the drugs of similar composition.
  1.  The website includes a list of the pharmaceutical factories in Lebanon.

Abou Mrad added that a page on Facebook has been launched for the activities of the ministry under the title: Lebanese ministry of public health. For breaking news, the ministry can be followed on you tube and mobile app.

Minister Abou Faour mentioned the importance of narrowing the distance between the citizen and the state in a country like Lebanon where the gap is large between them. The main purpose of updating the website is to bridge the gap at the communication level especially that the ministry of public health is in daily contact with the citizen.
He also stressed on the importance of the publication of drug prices on the updated website, which makes it easier for the Ministry and the syndicate of pharmacists to prevent illegal pricing.
