Jabak Toured West Bekaa Hospitals: I Apologize on behalf of the Lebanese State for Failing to Fulfill its Responsibilities towards the Region's Residents
Minister of Public Health Dr. Jamil Jabak visited the governmental hospitals located in West Bekaa as part of his tour of the governmental health facilities in Lebanon, starting with Kherbet Kanafar hospital.
“We will not accept to see any hospital suffer from lack of financial ceiling or shortage of medical equipment, since it is vital and crucial to any medical facility. I promise to establish a new building to ensure maximum availability of medical services,” Jabak stated after he was briefed on the situation of the hospital by its director Imad Ghantous.
Later in the day, Jabak visited Machgara Governmental hospital, where he was received by political, social and medical figures. After he toured the departments of the hospital, Dr. Abbas Rida explained the situation of the hospital that was established in 1996, but now lacks the financial and technical assistance in the absence of the financial ceiling.
Minister Jabak expressed anger at what he saw at the hospital, as he continued his visit to the departments. “I was shocked at the situation of this Lebanese governmental hospital that suffers from neglect and shortage in terms of equipment,” Jabak added.
Minister Jabak promised to secure an advance payment for the launch of the project as a preliminary step and raise the financial ceiling of the hospital.
‘I would like to apologize on behalf of the Lebanese State for failing to fulfill its responsibilities towards the region's residents,” Jabak said.
Jabak concluded his tour in West Beqaa Hospital in Somhor, inspecting its departments and praising the role of the Islamic health committee in the improvement of the medical work in this vital facility.
