MoPH: the Sweden's Offer to Sell Lebanon Cancer Drugs, a Lie
The Information Office of the Ministry of Public Health issued the following statement:
Unfounded allegations and rumors against the Ministry of Public Health and Deputy Prime Minister Health Minister Ghassan Hasbani continue to circulate.
In this context, a fabricated information has being spread on a Facebook account indicating that the Swedish Health Minister offered to sell Lebanon some cancer drugs that are 40 % cheaper, which may save 120 million dollars. However, the offer has being officially rejected. Unfortunately, this was spread on social media without verifying its accuracy.
The Ministry of Public Health stressed that this information was not true, and said that it would resort to all legal means to deter whoever is trying to mislead the public and tarnish the reputation of the health care sector. The citizens are called not to follow this destructive approach aimed at spreading unfounded allegations and claims.
