Hasbani during the Workshop on Genetic Testing: the Country Cannot Continue without the Rule of Law
The Ministry of Public Health and the Lebanese Foundation for Permanent Civil Peace” organized a workshop titled “Genetic testing, Human Health in Lebanon and the related laws”, under the patronage and in the presence of Deputy Prime Minister and Health Minister Ghassan Hasbani, Deputies Yassine Jabber, Issam Araji, Naji Gharios, Toni Abou Khater, the Director General of the Ministry Dr. Walid Ammar, and specialists.
Jaber
The president of the parliamentary committee in charge of monitoring the implementation of laws Deputy Yassine Jaber recognized the efforts exerted to ensure the success of the program’s activities, which aim at achieving its main goals, in particular regarding the assistance of the concerned ministries in drafting decrees for laws already passed by the parliament.
Ammar
“The workshop discusses today the decrees and the applicable decisions of a law that has an advanced technical dimension and a complicated ethical dimension. It is the law on human genetic testing. It was necessary to ask the assistance of specialists to draft these implementing regulations”, stated Ammar.
Hasbani
Hasbani discussed the project of genetic testing and human health in Lebanon, subject of discussion in the workshop. “This project opens the way for a broad reflection. It is linked to public morality and principles,” Hasbani said.
