شكر وزير الصحة العامة الدكتور حمد حسن المساهمين في تحقيق النجاح لـ"ماراتون أسترازينيكا"، منوها بالديناميكية التي طبعت العمل بين الفرق المتعددة بدءا من وزارة الصحة العامة ورؤساء المصالح والمديريات إلى أطباء الأقضية واللجان الفنية والتقنية، محييا بشكل خاص الدور التحفيزي الذي أدته وسائل الإعلام في تشجيع الناس على الإقدام على أخذ اللقاح.

وفي حديث للمؤسسة اللبنانية للإرسال أوضح الدكتور حسن أن "عدد الملقحين حتى الثامنة مساء فاق العشرة آلاف وخمسمئة وعشرين شخصا، خمسة وستون في المئة منهم لبنانيون، وخمسة وثلاثون في المئة لمقيمين من جنسيات أخرى ومن بين هؤلاء ثلاثة وعشرون في المئة من العمالة الأجنبية بجهد من المنظمة العالمية للهجرة - فرع لبنان". وأكد "أن هذا الأمر يؤكد الدور الأساسي للمجتمع الأهلي والبلديات والمنظمات غير الحكومية في تشجيع الناس على الإنخراط في عملية التلقيح".

وأكد الوزير حسن أن الماراتون سيتكرر أسبوعيا وفقا للحاجة وبحسب عدد اللقاحات المتوفرة وسيطال عددا من المراكز التي لم تكن راغبة في المشاركة ولكنها عادت وأبدت حماستها لذلك بعدما لمست نجاح ماراتون اليوم". وقال "إن الإستنتاج الأولي لهذا اليوم الماراتوني يدفع إلى تمديد وقت التلقيح في الأيام العادية إلى ما بعد السادسة مساء إفساحا في المجال لأكبر عدد من الراغبين في الحصول على اللقاح".

ولفت إلى "أن المناعة المجتمعية سترتفع في لبنان مع نهاية تموز المقبل، ونظرا لتوقع تسلم كمية كبيرة من اللقاحات، إلى حوالى خمسة وستين في المئة."
