Launching of EHealth Lebanon Mobile App. for MoPH Digital Services

Caretaker Deputy Prime Minister and Health Minister Ghassan Hasbani launched EHealth Lebanon mobile App for the MOPH  digital services. This project is the product of collaboration between the Ministry of Public Health and Loubnaniyoun Association, knowing that the Ministry has not incurred any financial costs. The launching ceremony was attended by the head of the Lebanese Order of Physicians in Beirut Pr. Raymond Sayegh, the Syndicate of Private Hospitals President Suleiman Haroun, the President of the Syndicate of Nurseries in Lebanon Hana Joujou, representatives of Loubnaniyoun Association, Dr. Guy Hokayem, Mrs. Katia Mansour, the National E-health Programme Director Lina Abou Mrad and concerned parties.

Abou Mrad opened the launching ceremony by introducing the MOPH’s process of facilitating the administrative procedures back from 2000 to date. In this context, several projects were completed to end up with the digital services. She also mentioned the different strategic initiatives of the Ministry within “Health 2025” Plan, which are: digital complaint reporting, the electronic medical record (EMR), custom registration, Drug barcode system, the One stop Shop, and e-government services.

Mrs. Mrad delivered a technical presentation on EHealth Lebanon mobile application, during which she introduced the different digitized services that are available to all the citizens on the digital platform that was developed to this end.

Minister Hasbani noted that launching the digital services is considered as a new step in the service of the Lebanese citizen. The role of the Ministry of Public Health encompasses not only the medical services provision, but also the supervision and registration of the medical professions, drug warehouses and the companies that import them. Hasbani added that all the transactions are now electronically available.

“The implementation of the project will take a long time, since the administrative services will be provided in parallel with the electronic ones for the citizens to get used to the digital services,” noted Hasbani.

“This project aims at keeping up with the evolving human competences of the physicians and medical professions workers”, said Hasbani.
