Respiratory Acute Infection Surveillance Report
Report of “2024-12-15”

A. Severe Acute Respiratory Infection (SARI)
The network includes 5 hospitals from Beirut, Mount-Lebanon, North and Baalbeck, from both public and private sector. The enrolled patients are those with fever and cough with onset within the past 10 days and admitted to hospital. Upon enrollment, data and clinical sample are collected. The respiratory sample is referred to the National Influenza Center at the Rafic Hariri University Hospital where PCR is conducted for Influenza and SARS-CoV2. During the past 4 weeks, 44 patients were enrolled, among them 1 positive for COVID-19, and 0 positive for Influenza.

B. Influenza Like Illness (ILI)
The network includes 9 medical centers from Beirut, Mount-Lebanon, North, Akkar, Nabatieh and Bekaa. The enrolled patients are those with fever and cough with onset within the past 10 days. Upon enrollment, data is collected and respiratory sample is collected and referred to the National Influenza Center for PCR testing for Influenza and SARS-CoV2. During the past 4 weeks, 105 patients were enrolled, among them 1 positive for COVID-19, and 0 positive for Influenza.
