During the 2025, 21 meningitis patients were reported. Following investigation, 14 were bacterial and 6 were viral, while were unspecified. The incidence for the past 52 weeks reached 5.4 per 100,000. | |
Among the bacterial meningitis, 0 were due to Neisseria meningitidis, 0 due to Haemophilus influenza, 7 due to Streptococcus pneumoniae, 0 due to other pathogens and 7 due to bacterial with unspecified pathogens. | |
As per the age groups, the highest rates were observed in: 65+y (0.7/100000), 00-04y (0.6/100000) and 15-24y (0.4/100000). On the other hand, 55% were male. As per nationality, 78.2% were Lebanese, and 16.1% were Syrian. | |
Across the mohafazas, the highest rates were observed in: Nabatieh (0.9/100000), Bekaa (0.7/100000) and South (0.5/100000). | |
