Japanese Medical Equipment Delivered to Hariri Hospital. The Japanese Ambassador Affirmed his Country's Continued Support to Lebanon
 
NNA- An ceremony was held at Rafik Hariri University Hospital to honor the Japanese Embassy for the in-kind donation it granted to the hospital under the patronage of Deputy Prime Minister and Health Minister Ghassan Hasbani represented by Director General of the Ministry Dr. Walid Ammar and in the presence of the Japanese ambassador H.E. Mr. Matahiro Yamaguchi, the Director General of the hospital Dr. Firas Abiad, the Managing Director of Fujifilm in the Middle East, physicians and employees.
 
“The Government hospitals have always proved they are capable of assuming their responsibilities, in spite of the large number of the displaced Syrian people. This is thanks to the huge efforts of the physicians and the medical staff, the assistance of the Ministry of Public Health and the International Community, such as the Japanese grants that constitutes a vital investment in the hospital infrastructure,” said Abiad.
 
Yamaguchi praised the role of Lebanon in hosting the largest number of refugees after the Syrian war period. The Japanese ambassador hoped that the Japanese grants will alleviate the impact of the crisis on the healthcare system in Lebanon, by enhancing the medical services for the benefit of the host and refugees communities.
 
Dr. Ammar noted that the Ministry of Public Health “is committed to achieve the sustainable development goals and attaches great importance to government hospitals in order to implement their strategies. Rafik Hariri University Hospital constitutes a milestone for this. This hospital and other government hospitals in Lebanon shouldered the heavy burden of the Syrian displacement to Lebanon.”
 
On behalf of Health Minister, Dr. Ammar thanked Japan “for its assistance that supplies the hospital with high-tech equipment, showing his confidence in the medical staff of the Hospital that will benefit from the same to enhance the medical services.”
